Worst nightmare of my life. I just signed up recently for Blueshield HMO Dental, and not being able to get a schedule any time soon, out of my bad luck, I ended up at Ronald Young's office. I was very surprised to see him at the front desk, answering phones, taking his 20 minutes time calling around, etc....His office was so dirty, and when i walked in his examination room, i was surprised by how dirty and filthy everything was, and i mean everything, dirt, dust, anything you can imagine was there from 1970s, hasn't been cleaned since. I had to tell the guy not to leave his gloves on the counter, because now it's dirty. He did a horrible job cleaning my teeth, many times poked me in my gum, and made me bleed, then when he was polishing, he didn't give me a goggle, and everything splashed in my face. Expecting a goggle from this guy of course was hoping too far. I can not imagine how this guy is still in business. Is there any dental association that we can report this guy to? I already filed a complaint to Blueshield on him. But, now i'm wondering how dirty was the tools that he used to clean my teeth. I don't want to end up having aids, or other diseases from other people. This is a nightmare, totally ruined my day.............Tu

I have NEVER had a WORSE experience with a dentist in my life. Not only did Dr. Young have to inject me with over 20 shots of xylocaine three different times in only 30 minutes, for only two cavities, but I felt the entire procedure and was crying hysterically the whole time. Not only did he NOT apologize, but during the procedure he kept saying "Don't worry about it," and didn't offer any discount. The office is small, and the bathroom is dirty, with old dusty equipment covered in magazines. Also, he didn't change his gloves when he got up to do some work and then came back to check on me. He was even late for my first appointment. I will never go back and suggest you never try going here.

Always answers the phone, which is a good thing, but did exam and cleaning for me for under 15 min.

Dr. Young is very nice, however, every time I have seen him, although the waiting area is nice, the exam room is a little bit dirtier, there is no hygienist, no receptionist, and he has re-used his face mask (small spatters of blood were visible, not from me, visible all 3 times). He charged quite a lot compared to other San Francisco dentists, and because my dental plan requires that I pay and he sends the info for reimbursement, he didn't bother to send in the forms for more than 2 months.

Outdated equipment, unresponsive to patient's pain levels and lack of post-dental procedure care. Parking was great.

Is it common practice that dentists only accept cash or check? I only had my credit card with me at my first visit so he allowed me to owe him the payment, which was nice of him... but it bugs me that he only accepts cash and check... very strange for professionals. He does seem like he knows what he's doing, and the treatment skills are good. But, when I ask questions about my teeth, he was somewhat recultant to answering me, seemed like he didn't hear me, or he thought my questions were stupid enough and was just trying to ignore me. Overall, I think he's nice, but I don't see much professional attitude...

Very nice and helpful. Easy to make an appointment. I am very afraid to go to the dentist and he made the experience very pleasent.
