I had two cavities filled by Dr. Pivor. At the time I was about one month over having bronchitis and still had a very slight and occasional cough. I told him so and said that if I did need to cough at all during the procedure, I would raise my hand to ask him to stop. He seemed very annoyed. When he put the piece of equipment in place it pinched very badly, and very soon after he started tears were running down my face not from the cavity he was filling but from the pain of where the side of my mouth was being pinched. I raised my hand for him to stop and he didn't. I started grunting, trying to talk, and he ignored me. This went on the whole time while I was soon in a panic state. When he was done, I found that the whole corner of my mouth where it had been held was cut and bleeding - and in fact I had a big bruise on the side of my mouth for several months, which severely impacted my life as a public speaker. I was really traumatized by this man and will not even go to my dental clinic when he is there.

About Hygienist: Hygienist Gillian is great. I do highly recommend her. She is friendly, sensitive, competent.

I just wanted to take a moment to talk about Gentle Dental in Arlington MA. I like many as a child had a dentist. The choice was made for me by my parents. He was a nice enough man but I always experienced pain and fear when I would see him. He was a family friend and I always felt awkward if I was to leave him. Well after many years he retired and I had to find a new dentist. I was recommended to Gentle Dental and there I met a whole new generation of Dental Professionals. It started with the receptionist who is always polite and professional and calls to remind me of my appointments to the Dental Hygienist Jillian who is always bright, cheerful and pleasant. Not to mention my teeth are the cleanest they have ever been. I happen to see Dr. Pivor whose new modern techniques and superior knowledge has taken most of the anxiety and the pain out of the visits. I truly believe that this is a direct result of the demanding high quality control which Gentle Dental Associates are held to. I can not say enough and do not have nightmares as I did before about going to the Dentist. I would highly recommend Jillian,(hygienist) and Dr. Pivor. They are an example of the New Generational approach to Dentistry that others should emulate. Jimmie D

About Hygienist: Jillian as I mentioned is knowledgable, pleasant and extremely meticulous

I have had nothing but positive dental experiences at Gentle Dental in Arlington, MA. My dentist is Dr. Pivor. Dr. Pivor has been by far, the best dentist that I have seen, and I have had lots of dental work over the years. He is very professional and seems to be a perfectionist. Every visit has been painless- I never thought that I would say that about a root canal! The staff at the office is great. The dental assistants are friendly and really make me feel at home. The front desk is knowledgeable and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Pivor and Gentle Dental in Arlington to anyone in the area looking for a dentist.

Earlier this week I had an appointment at Gentle Dental of Arlington for a filling. I will admit that though I encourage healthy oral hygiene and going in for annual check-ups, I am not particular of the dentist and this day was no different. As I was seated, my nerves were flying and sweat was flowing. The assistant well aware of my nervousness reassured me that the procedure would not begin until I was completely at ease. Dr. Pivor later entered the room and did the same. Before the procedure began I was allowed to put on my IPod (the drilling gets the best of me) and before I knew it, we were finish. The experience was fast and painless. The assistant and Dr. Pivor were very gentle and informative as he kept me in tuned with each stage of the procedure. The waiting area and front desk staff were clean and curtious. My co-pay was reasonable. And to my surprise, I received a call later that evening to see how I was recovering. I would definitely refer a friend and if enough courage is muster, return for further treatment.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Pivor. He held my mouth open so painfully that it was sore for several months afterward, he ignored my pre-arranged hand signals to stop if I had to cough, and the work he did had to be redone. I recommend Gentle Dental but not Dr. Pivor.

This dentist belongs to the firm of Gentle Dental which I may add is not gentle at all. The experience I had at their facilty was horrible to say the least. They placed crowns in my mouth which consequently had to be removed and now I have to have another dentist replace them. This facility is the Jack In The Box of dental practices and they are great at convincing you that you need crowns which is where the bulk of their revenues are made. I now have to inccur additional costs to fix their errors. Which I may say is not the worst what was the worst was the pain and suffering I had to endure especially with a dentist whose hands shake like he was having a seizure. Their hygenists are horrible too. Every time I went there they caused mouth sores and ripped my lips with the suction apparatus. They also didn't have any water basis to rinse your mouth (the use some lame excuse that it's a state code issue). The only reason they don't have water basins is because it's more cost effective. They don't have to pay for water or plumbing My advise is stay away unless you want more pain and suffering. As for their claims of affordability, It's costing me twice as much in monies and in pain suffering.
