When I went to Dr. Perry for a filling, he told me I could get an amalgam or a white filling. I asked what they are made of.
Dr. Perry told me his dental amalgam was an alloy of silver, tin, copper, zinc, and small amounts of other metals. I decided that sounded safe, I said I'll get that one.
My jaw locked up less than two weeks later and I asked him if this could be related somehow to the filling. He said he'd never heard of such a thing before. I thought, how strange - never?
Well, I did a little research online and it was a well known reaction to the 50% mercury content of the amalgam that he put in my mouth. Mercury he just decided NOT to tell me about. Is what he did legal? It shouldn't be.
The downside was I couldn't bite down all the way for a year and spent thousands of dollars removing this and some older mercury fillings. The upside is my jaw healed and so did a long list of ailments I had begun to suffer from, and my eyes are now open to how the dental and medical industry operates.

Dr. Clay Perry has been my family's dentist for 8 years and I give him and his staff the highest recommendation. Recently my husband retired from the military,after 35 years...our insurance changed...unfortunately Dr. Perry doesn't accept our plan now...we've gone through all of the dentist in our area of authorization...I can't wait to move to Colorado just to find another dentist hopefully as courteous, professional, caring, knowledgeable as Doctor Perry. He is the best.
