Dr. Higgins installed a permanent crown in Dec. 2014 poorly. I had sensitivity to cold in two areas from the start. When questioned about it, he said I might need a root canal. When I asked him what he was seeing on the X-ray, he pointed to the nerve of the wrong tooth. I questioned him, and he immediately left the room and didn't show me what he was really seeing (I suspect, it was all a smoke and mirrors show for me). I received two other dentist opinions that both said I need to redo the crown. I submitted a claim with the CA delta board and my insurance company. My insurance company sided with my other dentists for a new crown (Dr.Higgins didn't provide any information to the insurance company), and requested my money back. I still have not received my money back. Not only is Dr. Higgins not a good dentist, he is dishonest and does not stand behind his work. He does not work by the oath of "First, do not harm".

Dr. Higgins stand out as an exceptional dentist. His work has been beyond my expectations, and I am picky. If you want the very best treatment available, I thing he is unbeatable. I think he really takes pride in doing excellent work, and that he really likes what he does. The drawback to all of this can be summed up in one word: EXPENSIVE. That includes adding (legitimate)billing codes that the insurance company have never herd of, and that of course are covered at 0%.
So if you want perfection, and can pay for it, Dr. Higgins is your doctor.

Great TLC with my issues regarding anesthetics (bad reaction at the endodontist once). I won't go anywhere else as long as I can afford him!

Dr. Higgins is a very skilled Dentist and has a cosmetic and artistic flair. He has been my Dentist for 15 years and has out performed other Dentists that we tried after moving to and from different areas in Silicon Valley. For me, Dr. Higgins and his staff are worth driving the extra distance based on our current resident location. Recently, my father needed three crowns and a bridge, not only did her perform the work in a careful and professional manner, it was also at a cheaper cost than the Dentist he was using in Santa Cruz. I am very satisfied
