Dr. Apfel has been my denist since 1981. I have had almost every procedure done and I have no complaints or issues I would not think of going to anyone else. She is an excellent doctor with a terrific staff of people. I would recommed her without reservation. If you are looking for the perfect dentist in NYC she is your choice

We had Dr. Kessler before Apfel in the same office. It's a pretty good office with some administrative folks that have been there a long time. They've had hygenists and other (near student) dentists come through that I have not been happy with, but I am not really a complainer at the office. Obviously there were others who had similar experiences because the below standard employees usually don't stay long. Dr. Apfel is very good and cautious. Perhaps so cautious that she'll find a way to recommend preventative action regularly ($$ - but almost always an insurance charge). I have found that when I do opt to have some work done it is well done and the proceedure is not an painful as I always seem to anticipate.

She is always smiling and happy to see her patients. It is a great place to go to. I used to hate going to the dentist, but since I go there, I don't mind it at all! I have had 5 fillings done and it didn't hurt. Plus, 3 hours later, I was able to do everything I wanted to do.

I have found my semi-annual cleaning visits to Dr. Apfel to be quick and relatively painless. Her dental hygienists are very agreeable and do their best to make you feel at home, and her receptionist is extremely helpful - even suggesting an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction. They accept my insurance (Guardian) and have helped schedule appointments around my coverage so that I don't have to pay anything out of pocket. The waiting room is a bit cramped, but that is New York City for you. Overall, I find the experience at Dr. Apfel's office to be as enjoyable as going to a dentist can be!

Only had to go to her for routine cleanings, but the treatment has been excellent. Insurance has covered all the expenses. I've never had a long wait when I go in for an apointment, either.
