Not sure why he gets negative reviews. He has been my dentist since 2001, and I have highly recommended him. Many of my friends, co-workers, etc. have changed to be under his care, and speak highly of him. He has always been available to me, and others I have seen come to his office. There are people who I've seen who are just difficult. I have on several occasions seen patients complaining because they have had to wait, even though they were 30 minutes or more late to their appointments.I have also seen where he has been handling other emergencies (example: I came in with something stuck in my gum), and other patients just don't understand the realities of the medical profession.

About Front Desk: Very good. I get normal reminders, they are always mindful of my time and are helpful when I need to change appointments, etc.

About Hygienist: She is awesome, tender, etc. He has had three since I was there, and one he got rid of because she just didn't offer the level of care the other two did. Not sure how she left, but she was only there once. I get my teeth cleaned three times a year, and only having two technicians in 14 years speaks to their commitment to his practice. Not sure what else I can say.

I really like this guy. He is very personable and professional. I like the dental tech also. Mostly all I've needed was cleaning but I had one very difficult (and big) filling in a molar. It should have hurt like hell to get that fixed AND it probably should have only lasted a year or so. It really is deep. BUT.. (you saw this coming all the way) it has lasted for like 8 years and still going strong. The tooth isn't even a bit sensitive. Nice job I think.

About Front Desk: I have always seen a receptionist there. Some reviewers say there wasn't one but there has always been one there for me

I went to Dr. Hudgins for the first time for my routine cleaning. I had to wait for 30 mins. After 30 mins of waiting, the dental assistant took my x-rays and left me in the room for another 20 mins and when she came back she said she had lost my left xray and started looking everywhere. She couldn't find it and took another x ray. Finally the doctor came and he was not friendly and sounded so cold and said I had a cavity so first I need to make an appointment for the filling and then they will do the cleaning. I have to go once for the x-ray, once for filling and then the third time for cleaning. I don't know what kind of practice they run, but I had never had to go for routine cleaning three times, they always do that in one setting. As far as their office is concerned, it was so run down and all the equipments seemed like they were from the 70s, paint chipping and so old. I will not go to him again or recommend him. Also when my husband went for cleaning, the doctor didn't even come that day, his assistant did the cleaning. Only time my husband saw the doctor was when he came in room to check x rays. He also had to go twice ones for x ray and 3 weeks later for cleaning. You are better off finding another doctor and practice

Dr. Hudgins is indeed a superb dentist, he treats his patients with high regard and respect. He is direct and his work is great, chair side manners are professional and office staff are polite, professional. Yes I would recommend his work to others.

Dr. Hudgins is a very honest dentist, never suggesting a dental procedure that isn't essential. Other dentists I've been to in the past said I need about $9000 in dental work -- went to Dr. Hudgins for second opinion, who said none was needed. Nearly 14 years later, still haven't had any of those procedures and have continued going to Dr. Hudgins. In addition, he is always accommodating to me and my family whenever we have an urgent dental need.

Dr. Hudgins is absolutely the best. He demonstrates care an concern in treatment. He also has an excellent network of dental collegues such as excellent Oral surgeon; Entodontist Dr. Robertson; all are excellent. He's just great and reasonbly priced for the EXCELLENT service. He's GREAT service superior to none.

I think he is one of the best people persons around. I had a dentist for many years and believe in the relationship of having one person over a period of time, and my wife was the first one to go to Dr. Hudgins when we moved to Virginia. I tried several other dentists before I began seeing him and was immediately hooked. His staff is very caring and make it a habit to "know" each and every patient. He is caring, honest, and has treated my wife and I as people, not as a line on his expense sheet. I have recommended him to several co-wprkers who now rave about him to others. The treatment he gives his staff is also excellent. It's like being in a family environment each and every time I go in. I've had a root canal, crown, cleanings, etc and have never felt any pain following any procedures. This is only accomplished by taking ones time and going out of your way to ensure your patients comfort and tranquility. I have spoken to other Dentists in the area who themselves speak very highly of him. The practice is very helpful when scheduling appointments or even re-scheduling them when business travel has forced me to change them. I highly recommend him.

About Hygienist: He's had the same one since I began going there! Says a lot about the practice. She is also very caring as are everyone associated with the practice. The only staff that has left him was due to her husband being transferred out of state.
