Switched to Dr. Wortman based on accepting my insurance and good reviews. Excellent service,and I was particulary impressed when he ultimately rejected a crown from the lab and needed to re-order it -- lot's of extra work on his part. His regular rates are very steep, but quite reasonable with my insurance. However, it did take a while to sort out all of the fees and reimbursements with the front office.

About Hygienist: Very pleased with hygienest. One of the few that didn't lecture me on how to brush my teetb.

I have seen several dentists over my life and, due to my extensive dental work, spent countless hours in the chair. I went to Dr. Wortman after several co-workers recommended him. I felt completly relaxed the moment I walked in. Everyone is really nice and friendly. I had several extractions and Dr. Wortman spent over twenty minutes checking and re-checking to make sure I was completly numb. I only felt slight pain due to a nerve that would not numb. (I knew this going in and he tried but this nerve has never numbed.) He is very gentle and explains everything. I have really good insurance so the cost was rather cheap. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment!

About Hygienist: They are all super sweet and really know their jobs. They are gentle and don't talk down to you or lecture you like a lot of others I've met in other offices. They also pay attention to your body language. I was really nervous at my first appointment and she saw that and asked me questions to determine why. She then adjusted how she worked to help me relax. During my extractions, a different hygienist noticed the change in my body language and asked if I was okay. I clearly couldn't speak with the instuments in my mouth but she understood what was wrong, (I was lightheaded) and both she and Dr. Wortman stopped what they were doing to adjust my position. They really understand what it feels like to be in the patient chair.

This office has always taken good care of me. The staff are friendly, and even after finding out that they stopped carrying my insurance plan, they still gave me the same rate without any questions. If it wasn't for the change in insurance, I'd continue to use them for as long as I live here.

Professional, friendly and capable dentist, but under a business group management that seems to focus on selling additional costly (and possibly inessential) services in lieu of good customer service.

Dr. Wortman and his colleagues are THE BEST if you have a need for emergency dental work. They came highly recommended by a police officer who overheard me in distress at a local emergency room when I broke a tooth during the night -- before an important court hearing I was to deliver in DC. His colleague took my 3 a.m. call and, had it been truly urgent, would have seen me immediately. Dr. Wortman's office opened earlier than anyone's in the yellow pages under "emergency dentist" and my wee-hours call was returned by a real dentist not just an answering service. These guys do a HUGE public service and should be rewarded for it. If I didn't live in CA they would be my dentists!!

Put a porcelain crown in, fit like a charm, and I've had no problems with it. Everyone who works in the office is very personable, and I enjoy talking to them, even when writing checks!
