Dr. Mark Katz took over the practice from his father, Dr. Sanford Katz. He is thorough, conservative in his diagnoses, does not recommend action until it's required. His partner is less conservative and I refrain from using him. Dr. Katz is friendly and professional. My only concern--which is why the overall rating is three stars rather than 4--is his billing which for most procedures is 3 times the rate recommended by Delta Dental. I doubt you'll find a better dentist than Dr. Mark Katz; if money is not an issue, he'll treat you well.

About Front Desk: Recently the front desk has begun asking for payment upon service completion rather than billing the patient. I've resisted this practice and continue to pay after insurance reimbursement.

About Hygienist: Professional and thorough; friendly; painless. Her gently manner got me to begin flossing after many years of ignoring the advice.

You are very lucky if you come in contact with such an honest, truthful, Hardworking, detail orientated professional. He does not know the word "mediocre" Only words like "perfect fit". I think it's just in his DNA if that's a possibility or maybe he gets people like me that need saving, from a bad botched job that are ready to die unless their Crown is taken off and re-done properly! That was my story. Pain, Anxiety from getting needles placed in the wrong area etc. and Dr. Katz came in the room and assured me HE WAS GOING TO HELP ME, and I believed him. He told me all that stress rolling around in my head, was gonna be gone. No gas, a classic rock n' roll cassette tape on for me to listen to and take my mind back to the oldie but goodies days! Songs I haven't listened to in a decade! It was awesome, and voila, while he went about his job, "until it was perfect." He saved my tooth and every Dentist wanted to do an IMPLANT! They all said it would come off by years end. It's been 7 years! Sure, it's getting time....that's why I looked him up right now to get his phone # and saw you could rate your experience. Well, This is a really late review...Thank YOU ,,,if you remember my situation. Saved me from thinking I was crazy!

About Hygienist: Wasn't there for that reason. But maybe they did do the cleaning it's just I was so focused on getting rid of the Crown that was hanging off the back tooth, and it was killing me.

I know this doctor: 7 years ago and need more work again on other teeth

Superb dentist, wonderful staff. My bridge looks great - and procedures were painless. I recommend Dr. Mark Katz highly.

I have seen Dr. Mark Katz for almost 10 years...he works with his father Sanford Katz and has had the same staff for as long as I have been going there which says a lot. Dr. Katz has a wonderful chair-side demeanor and is super knowledgeable and professional. The office is very clean and bright...only think that would make it better is an elevator as it is on second floor in a charming old Beverly Hills building but not really a big deal. The front desk (Ann) is a wonderful woman that welcomes clients as she would an old friend. This practice is top notch. I have also seen Sanford while Mark was away and like father like son...just a wonderful dentist.

About Hygienist: All of the hygienists are amazing...they are very concerned about the client understanding proper hygiene and take time to explain everything while being kind and patient. I enjoy my time with them even if half my conversation is hard to understand because they are in my mouth. I always feel fresh and clean after my visit and they are so quick and professional. You can't go wrong here!

Dr. Katz is the best dentist in the world! He's sweet, funny, patient, and painless. He has always taken the time to explain to me what was going on with my teeth/mouth, and then proceeded to do the work in an unbelievably pain-free way. I was always amazed by how efficiently he worked and how I never had a problem again after he finished with one of my dental concerns. I have recommended him to more people than I can count -- each time, INSISTING that my friends and family go to him! EVERYONE, without exception, thanks me profusely after going to Dr. Katz with their dental issues! I just wish that every doctor I went to was as wonderful as he is. I could not possibly recommend him more highly!! (The prices are very fair, too!)
