Dr Merlo was the rudest doctor I have ever encountered. He was abrupt, unprofessional, no compassion what so ever. My daughter told him that she was scared and he told her in a terse way that was normal. He pulled my daughter’s wisdom tooth, gave her pain medicine then would not give her a Doctor’s note for school the next day. I would never recommend him to anyone.

About Front Desk: Helpful. Sorry they have to work for such a rude person

Don't even think about going to Dr. Merlo for any involved procedure. He is extremely unprofessional, has major anger issues and left me crying and bleeding after implant surgery. He yelled at me and was overly aggressive in the procedure because he I asked him questions about the procedure that I guess he didn't like. I was literally frightened at what he would do to me, that's how scary this man is. I have never in my life encountered someone so aggressive and unkind. Stay far, far away.

About Front Desk: very unhelpful and lack compassion as well.

Avoid this office at all costs! While his associate Dr. Gittelman was perfectly fine in extracting 4 wisdom teeth, the follow-up visit was rushed, I was not given a chance to ask any questions, and I was rushed out so they could see the next patient. Oh, did I mention I got dry sockets? I did. And was told so in my follow up. I am then in excruciating pain the rest of the night, as the pain medicine (Tylenol 3) was not doing anything for me. And although I've explained a history of ulcers, the doctor just said to take more Advil...about the worst thing you can do for an ulcer. I called the 24-hour on-call doctor, Dr. Merlo, and it was the worst treatment I've ever had from anyone in my life. I was yelled at for calling, accused of being an addict (because, of course, an addict would have 5 teeth extracted to score 20 mild painkillers), was told go to the ER, and wasn't even allowed to finish a sentence. The doctor is supposed to treat the patient in front of them; I just got yelled at instead. Honestly, I have never, ever, ever been spoken to so poorly. If this man doesn't want to be on call, or doesn't want to be a dentist, or doesn't want to talk to patients, he should find something else to do.

"I'm gonna get medieval on your ass." Marsellus Wallace said in Pulp Fiction. That's what I was thinking as Merlo yanked and yanked and yanked... a tooth out of my head. It was as if he wanted me to experience as much bone crushing pain as posible. He seemed to enjoy my suffering. I will never forget the look of disgust in Merlo's eyes when I complained about the excruciating pain. I felt vulnerable. I felt less than human. Cadavers should be treated with more dignity and respect.

Worst dentist ever. Unfortunately I went there once, had a terrible treatment, and will never go again. Strongly not recommend.

Went to him to have my four wisdom teeth removed. Felt immediate discomfort in one, called him that same day--he did not remember me. Went in for a check-up a week later--he spent 5 minutes with me, ignored me when I said that something was wrong with that tooth and sent me on my way. Fast forward 2.5 to 3 weeks, the tooth is severely infected. I had to speak to his receptionist several times before he had the decency to call me back. He does not check in with his patients nor does he respect anyone's opinion or feelings if they are not in sync with his own. I would like to say, I understand that infections happen... what I don't understand is his insufficient patient care. If you're going to be a doctor you should be caring and attentive not rushed, negligent, and surly. Long story short: Avoid him.
