Around 2008, I had a cleaning with Dr. Ann. She was recommended by a colleague. I had never had a cavity in my life (I was 25 at the time). She told me a tooth sounded funny when tapped and that she wanted me to schedule a root canal. I tapped the tooth, and didn't notice anything, but it made me paranoid. I didn't schedule a root canal because I thought that was drastic and I'd never noticed any discomfort. When I returned 6 months later for another cleaning, she didn't say a word about that tooth. I ended up switching dentists because of insurance. I then moved to Wyoming, and I have since had 1 cavity. No other problems. The memory still bothers me to this day (8 years later), and I had to share. I am grateful that I went with my gut and didn't do a root canal.
