I never even saw this guy! Another dentist came over, glanced at my on-screen x-rays and told me to floss, then tried to sell me a $490 bite guard.

About Front Desk: Horrible. They never verified my insurance coverage. Then rendered unneeded services which I refuse to pay for.

About Hygienist: For my 2:30 PM appointment, I arrived at 2:20 PM. I asked if they needed my paperwork when I arrived, they said no that they would run it and call to check and verify my insurance coverage when they called me back. I sat for 50 minutes, at 3:10 PM a dental tech called me back. I handed her my paperwork so that she could call and find out exactly what my coverage was. She said that she would, but she did not at that moment. When she took me to the exam room, I told her that I had "No Money" for any extra services not covered by my insurance. She said that she had my insurance coverage "memorized", which was a complete lie. I said I wanted absolutely nothing done that was not covered. She proceeded to do a full complete set of x-rays, something like 12 or 16 x-rays. It turns out that this is only covered every 5 years, I found out later, but she did them anyway. I had these done 2 years prior at a different dentist, so therefore, not covered. She did a blue thermal light cancer test on my gums, I actually had no idea what she was doing as she didn't tell me or ask my permission for the procedure. When I realized, she said it was fine, my insurance covered it. I would have absolutely never ever agreed to this service as it is completely unnecessary. When I checked out on this day, I owed $28 cash because my dental insurance certainly did NOT cover the blue light cancer test at all! They knew this right away and obviously had to have known that I would have to pay for it when the tech did the test, even though she lied when she said that she had my insurance "memorized". They also tried to strong arm me into buying a night time bite guard that was around $480. Not covered by insurance, of course. When I went back on 9/29/15 for a teeth cleaning, they put fluoride on my teeth. I again said that I don't think that my insurance covers this and I only wanted a cleaning that was covered. They reassured me that my insurance covered a fluoride treatment. When I went to check out this day, I had paid the $28 previously for the cancer screening that I did not want, nor ask for, and specifically stated not to do, but I paid out of pocket cash for it against my better judgment. Well now I owed another $190 on top of that for the full set of x-rays that were also absolutely not covered by my insurance. Later, I owed for the fluoride treatment too because that was not covered. The billing lady, who has since blown up my phone with calls and threats about sending my bill to collections, at first said that their techs there would "never" do services that I did not ask for or were not covered. Then she saw my bill and realized her error and that the techs working there lied. Gentle Dentist never ever called my insurance company to check my coverage. They proceeded to lie and state that they either had called or that they had "memorized" my dental coverage and would not do any tests that were not covered by my insurance. Well they lied about everything. This is a horrible company with lazy and lying employees. They should have checked my dental insurance on the very first visit while I sat for almost an hour and waited for them. I filled out all their forms, but they did nothing at all with them, just setting the forms aside. I called my dental insurance and they have no record of them EVER calling to see what my coverage was. They just did expensive testing and ran up bills very secretly, then lied to cover their tracks. I am disabled and on Medicaid, my income is exactly $0. I would never ever have gone to such a poor company just to have my teeth cleaned to end up in collections. They should have done their job and called my dental insurance to verify coverage. But they wanted to hurry me in and out and try to rip me off.

All the Dentists I have had at Gentle Dental have been great! I think my favorite was Dr, Milt, but since he relocated I have had Dr Tolias and other Dentists and have been satisfied with them all. I had a bridge done by Dr. Milt.

About Front Desk: Well I love Sharon, She has made me feel at home there since my first visit! Everyone at this office is great!

Not engaged unless he directly is involved in treatment, relies on other dentists on staff. Patient desires about treatment, cost, planning, preferences are completely ignored. I can't say enough about the office completely closing in the middle of the day for lunch which backs up appointment hours and handling. How is it not possible to send part of the staff for lunch at one time and another at a different time so that the office can be kept open in the middle of the day? The office also has a 4 day week, seriously? So many other offices are open six days a week and until 7PM. The "office" is always booked critically because of this four day week and patients feel the rush of the lack of more days/hours for appointment times and care in treatment. I was told my next appointment time available was almost four months in the future !!! Its ridiculous and the office staff appears to be "spoiled" because of the four day work week, etc.

About Front Desk: Once you're done its get the money, get you out the door asap. No real interest in your uniqueness as a patient (meaning patiently discussing your overall treatment plan). Way too busy, overbooked with patients's so what happens is you feel rushed from the time you walk in until you leave. Seems like the office has become an assembly line / money grab. There exists no "work with you" on paying huge costs, its pay the full amount immediately. This office "used" to be awesome, but over the last several years it has gone from great to not good. Long time patients like myself are treated no differently than someone walking through the door for the first time. Seeing another dentist now.

About Hygienist: Just awful, the hygienist talked non stop through cleaning and this was terribly annoying. Because of this they did a horrible job on the cleaning. Wasn't paying attention and just went through the motions of the cleaning process and because of this I felt my teeth were cleaned at 60% instead of 100%. Some of my teeth were still indicating build up after the cleaning !!! I can't emphasize enough how unfocused the hygienists are. Its as though cleanings are low priority for the office since they are not a revenue generator. There was way too much unfocused socializing during the cleaning and this has become the norm rather than the exception. What do I do? Tell the hygienist to shut up ?? That's the office managers job to ensure this is not going on.

Have had fillings, crowns with no discomfort. With no insurance the Smile Club has really helped. Staff is very friendly and helpful when asked. Dr. Tolias has a gentle touch and explains the proceedures he is about to do. I find him a very handsom man, also! I recently had a very bad tooth ache and was able to walk in and ask for anyone available. A quick look told them I needed a root canal treatment. I was referred to a clinic close by as Dr Tolias does not do that type of surgery. My root canal was done same day, as Dr Tolias staff had asked them to fit me in as soon as possible.

About Front Desk: Very friendly and helpful. Any questions about billing and appointments are answered quickly.

About Hygienist: Denise B. has cleaned my teeth several times and is my favorite. I ask for her when I am due for a cleaning.

I have been going to Dr. Tolias's office my entire life. My wife and child now go there and we have never had a bad experience. My wife had been to 3 or 4 dentists prior to Dr. Tolias and said he is far and away the best she has seen.

This was the worst dental experience - ever. Dr. Tolias refused to let me see the permanent bridge before it was installed; He stated that if he did redo the bridge a second time it would not be any better than the first time and probably worse, and I would be stuck with it because he wouldnt do it a third time; and He stated the above when I had a gaping whole in my mouth and, thus, was at his mercy: completely helpless and vulnerable; Dr. Tolias, was a bully. He didn't care if I was a satisfied customer or if he did the best work. As a result, " Front teeth are too small " Eye teeth are too large, overly prominent, and squared off " The left side of the bridge shifts to the right, i.e., the bridge is off center " The color of the bridge does not match the rest of her teeth " The overall bridge has the structure and appearance of a three-sided box, i.e., it is not circular " The bridge is set too far back
